RADIATION ONCOLOGY

Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)
With IMRT, multiple tiny radiation beams of different intensities can be shaped to match the dimensions of a tumor and a high dose of radiation can be delivered to a tumor without harming surrounding normal tissue.

Image Guide Radiation Therapy (IGRT)
Tumors such as lung, stomach and prostate can move, both during a radiation treatment session and from one treatment session to another as a result of normal internal organ action (e.g.: breathing). With Image guidance during the treatment both unparalleled tumor control and normal tissue sparing can be achieved.

Image-guided Radio Surgery (IGRS)
IGRS is a radiation therapy modality in which high doses of radiation are delivered using a very precise beam during a single treatment session. It is generally used for smaller lesions and metastases located close to critical structures. Historically, these patients have been treated with surgery, which sometimes is not possible due to tumor location or patient's general condition. IGRS provides the opportunity for tumor control in these patients with minimal toxicity.

High Dose Rate (HDR) Brachytherapy
HDR Brachytherapy catheters are implanted in the tumor and high dose of radiation is delivered using tiny radioactive Iridium sources using CT guidance and computerized planning. This is particularly beneficial in tumors located close to critical structures and requiring a high dose such as Head/neck and gynecological malignancies.
